WHAT IS WACSOF?

The West African Civil Society Forum (WACSOF), created by the ECOWAS, is the umbrella network of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) from the 15 member states of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). WACSOF is a Civil Society membership organisation, which is a partner and advisor to
ECOWAS and many institutions

SEE WHAT WE ARE WORKING ON

Our Vision

WACSOF envisions a well-organized and vibrant civil society in West Africa, which contributes to the attainment of a stable and prosperous West African region characterized by democracy; human rights; good governance; the rule of law; constitutionalism; economic prosperity; and social justice”.

Our ultimate aim is to facilitate the building of dense associational networks, promotion of solidarity, trust and reciprocity among CSOs such that they can better enhance the efforts of the ECOWAS towards fostering regional integration and development in West Africa

OUR MISSION

Serve as the receptacle for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), by serving as the channel of engagement with the ECOWAS and also with other institutions. WACSOF empowers CSO to harness the public space at the national level, regional and continental levels in order to contribute to an integrated, stable and developed Africa.

Create the avenues through which CSOs can more constructively engage with the authorities at the national levels as well as the Institutions of the ECOWAS System
