The West African Civil Society Forum (WACSOF) is pleased to invite you to the People’s Forum (General Assembly of WACSOF) scheduled for June 30th , 2022 in COTONOU, BENIN.

With more than 1000 CSO members, created in 2003 with the support and approval of ECOWAS, WACSOF is the Apex umbrella organization of civil society in West Africa, with representation in the 15 ECOWAS countries and covering 18 thematic groups. Since its creation in 2003, WACSOF has worked to fulfill its mandate to be the link between Civil Society and ECOWAS. Efforts are underway to strengthen the important role of WACSOF in supporting ECOWAS in implementing the ECOWAS Vision 2050 and an ECOWAS of the Peoples.

In accordance with Article 6.3.b of its Charter, which provides for the convening of the Peoples’ Forum, and In accordance with Article 10.11 of the WACSOF Charter, which entrusts the regional secretariat with the planning and preparation of the Peoples’ Forum and in application of resolution 3.C, of its extraordinary session organized on May 14, 2022, WACSOF is organizing its People’s Forum with the overall objective of renewing its governance structures and strengthening the effectiveness of the execution of its mandate at across the region.

Given the role you play and your commitment to support and accompany WACSOF, we would like to invite you to the ordinary session of the People’s Forum of WACSOF, which will be held on Thursday, June 30th, 2022 in Cotonou, Benin.
